[Bamboo-Users] storing objects in bamboo

hey everyone,
 I want to build a system, that can locate services and I want to use my own dht for location process. but therefore it is necessary, that i do not only store simple key/value-pairs in the dht, but the value should be a object.
 in this object i would store the service description and the host where the service is offered.
 di you think it is possible to expand the bamboo source for this requirement.
 i read all the users and programmers guides and i am not quite sure...
